The
European directive 2004/22/EC (MID) is in force since 30 october 2006 and
induces major changes.
It applies to
the placing on the market of custody transfer liquids and gases metering
systems in the 27 EU member states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and
Switzerland.
The requirements
provide a high level of reliability and safety to the users.
For
Liquids other than water metering, the responsibility resides with the
manufacturer. The manufacturer issues the EC declaration of conformity.
MECI has signed partnerships with other parts suppliers, to be able to
propose compliant solutions.
For Gas
metering, the responsibility is separated between manufacturers of gas
meters and manufacturers of volume conversion devices.
Non-domestic
applications are out of the scope of MID. Each member state defines the
boundary between light and heavy industrial applications, to let them fall
under MID or national requirements.
MECI
is competent to give you advice and to propose best solution to reduce cost
and approval time, for new systems or installation revamping.
EC Type certificates :
